Is there a registration fee?
The early bird fee to register as an in-person cyclist is $50 and increases to $75 on June 1st. Beginning September 1st, the fee increases to $100. There is a $25 registration donation per participant for virtual cyclists/spinners, runners, walkers, or multi-sport. 100% of your registration donation will support cancer research at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center. It will also count towards your fundraising goal!
Can I donate by mail?
Yes, please mail your donation to the address below. Please include the team or participant name in the check memo line for any donation made to support a specific team or participant.

Is there a fundraising minimum?
There is no minimum fundraising requirement for the 2025 Breakthrough Challenge.
All Breakthrough Challenge participants have the opportunity to set a personal fundraising goal during registration.
The Breakthrough Challenge does not charge the participant for the difference, if they do not meet their personal fundraising goal.

How do I participate virtually?
Register for the Virtual Challenge Week Once registered, sign up for a free Strava account via mobile app or desktop website. There are two Breakthrough Challenge Strava clubs, one for cyclists/spinners,and one for runners/walkers, to help in tracking Virtual Challenge activities. Strava is compatible with many devices, including smart phones and watches, Fitbit, Peloton, and more.
Will I receive swag?
All registered participants for the 2025 Breakthrough Challenge event will receive a t-shirt. There will be fundraising swag incentives at the $100, $250, and $500 levels. These will be available to view on this website by August 1st, 2025.
